Since January 1 2016 the current regulations regarding BS 7671:Amendment 3 have changed.The requirement is for all domestic consumer units to be of non combustible material.This is due to the amount of HOUSE FIRES starting here due to poor or loose connections.Due to this change I now only fit METAL CLAD consumer units as standard. Do you have an old consumer unit?.If it looks like the one below then the answer is yes.
Once changed and complete like the one below, a full Electrical installation certificate is issued as well as notification to the local Planning office for Building Control
